#reverb10 – December 14

December 14 – Appreciate What’s the one thing you have come to appreciate most in the past year? How do you express gratitude for it? (Author: Victoria Klein)

In the past year the thing I’ve come to appreciate the most is actually a person:  ms_snickerpants (you know of whom I speak)!

I’m not a particularly grateful or appreciative person by nature.  The glass is always half empty in my world.  Mostly, I think the universe is against me and that life is too damn hard by half.  But one thing that has made this year a hell of a lot more bearable has been my growing and evolving friendship with ms_snickerpants.

She lets me just be me.  And she lets me flatiron her hair (this is therapeutic for me though I claim it’s for her sake–tricksy I am).

I’d like to think that I’m nice to ms_snickerpants and that I’m there for her when she needs it too.  I like to think that I show my gratitude for what she brings to my life by ensuring that our friendship doesn’t feel like a one-way street.  I hope that when I kick her ass to treat herself as she deserves to be treated and to take care of number one, she knows it’s because I love her to bits.  I hope she knows that she gets tons of virtual hugs from my non-tactile self.  This morning she asked me how I was doing and she really wanted to know; that did wonders for my day.

Ms_snickerpants has made 2010 way better than it would have been otherwise.  (Mostly–that’s for you snickerpants).

Thank you, that is I think the nicest thing anyone has said about me. I love you too.
